E-MAP Registration Information

E-MAP  Program Registration

Students accepted into the College of Engineering may apply for admittance to the Engineering Math Advancement Program by completing the online application form and submitting to the E-MAP Office.  Application forms are to be submitted with deposit of $335 by April 30, 2008 (view costs [PDF]).  Additional information is being prepared and will be distributed to program participants.     

Students registering for E-MAP also need to register for the Summer Term II Bama Bound Session on the 7th of July. This is a special session for E-MAP students only. Visit the Bama Bound website here.

Schedule Conflicts

If you have conflicts with your schedule, please contact Dr. Karen Boykin in the E-MAP Office to discuss. 

All students enrolled in E-MAP will be recommended to register for Freshman Bama Bound before the start of the program. Please call the University Orientation Office at 205-348-4999 to register for this session. You can view the Bama Bound schedule here. Please also review the research consent form.

 

Registration Process:

1.  Complete On-Line Application Form

The E-MAP registration is a competitive process.  To be considered for admittance, this form must be completed in full.

2.  Send deposit check of $335 with Application Form by April 30, 2008 to:

                        E-MAP Office

                        The University of Alabama

                        College of Engineering

                        Box 870205

                        Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0205

3.  Include completed Subsistence Assistance Request Form [PDF] [DOC].

4.  If subsistence assistance is not requested and:

  1. Student is an enrolling freshman, then balance for housing at dorm is due by June 18, 2008 to E-MAP Office address above

  2. Student is not an enrolling freshman but requests housing, then balance for housing at dorm is due by June 18, 2008 to E-MAP Office address above

  3. Student is not an enrolling freshman and does not request housing, then a letter must accompany the application form stating the type of alternative housing and that on-campus residency is not needed

Students are to be informed within a week of receipt of application if accepted into the program and if subsistence assistance is available. 

 

Based on acceptable class scores, advanced placement may be given.
