Radici Spandex
The students were taken to a room where a tensile testing apparatus was set in the front. Two student volunteers are selected to run the tests. These students provide the result readings to the other students who are asked to work a tensile test problem. After working the problem, Sandy Woods, as the CHE lab assistant provides a general overview of how this type of test would be important. Last year the importance related to the bungee cord problem for the Theme Park. Next the Radici staff provides an overview of the plant and separate the students into groups for a tour. They are shown the manufacturing process from mixing the various agents, to the thread processing. Lastly, they are given a sample of the spandex thread for a keepsake before departing.
